Savta® means "grandmother" in Hebrew. It's actually an old recipe from my mother. "We decided to launch Savta® after our son Itamar died on flight MH17. He was 26 years old and studying International Business in Australia. He was a passionate salesman.
In his memory, we founded 'Itamars Cooking Company'." Savta spread consists of eggplant, bell pepper, and garlic in a mix of various herbs. Savta® is more than just a spread; it is a seasoning that can be used in various dishes.
The product is handcrafted in Schalkwijk (near Houten). It's delicious with drinks, on toast, a baguette, or pita bread for dipping. It's also ideal as a condiment for sandwiches, meat, fish, salads, pasta, and more.
Savta® is generally served at room temperature, but can also be warmed.
Savta® is made without artificial preservatives; we use oil and vinegar. Savta® has a long shelf life in the refrigerator (max. 7°C), even after opening the jar.
