Welcome to Savta

Savta means grandmother in Hebrew—and like every true grandmother, our story begins in the kitchen. With the aroma of roasted red peppers, eggplant, and fresh garlic.

We are Dov and Jeannet Avnon.

For us, Savta is more than just a brand. It's a tribute to family, tradition, and the pure craft of cooking with love and care.


The recipes originate from my mother's house, where she carefully passed on her cooking secrets. What began as a jar of tapenade for friends has grown into a line of artisanal spreads and seasonings—each with its own character and story.

In 2014, we lost our son Itamar in the MH17 disaster on his way back to Melbourne (Australia), where he was studying at a business school.


In his memory, and as a tribute to his entrepreneurial spirit, we founded Itamar Cooking Company — the heart behind all Savta products.

Everything is prepared by hand, without artificial additives, and where possible with fresh, local vegetables from the Netherlands.
